Full fibre Upgrade for existing BT Halo3 customer

Hello every one!

Please can someone help me

I have a question with regard to a Full Fibre upgrade of an existing  BT Halo3 package

My system at present is -

BT FTTC Broadband

Digital Voice Anytime Calls Package

TNT/Discovery+ Sports and Entertainment Package

BT Smart Hub 2 router

No Landline as this was removed some months ago

I am in contract with BT

I have to upgrade my Broadband to Full Fibre in the near future

My question is -

When I have to recontract to FTTP Broadband will my Digital Voice Anytimes Package and Sports and Entertainment package be automatically carried over??

I  can't seem to find a CLEAR answer to this question

PLEASE help before I commit to the Broadband upgrade

Thank you

Regards Edward

Re: Full fibre Upgrade for existing BT Halo3 customer

When you say recontract to full fibre do you mean that your existing contract is due for renewal and you have FTTP now available.  If so you will need to renegotiate your broadband and phone package together with your call package.  Your TV contract will also need to be re-negotiated  probably best trying the retention team when it is time to recontract and see what you can negotiate

When you move to FTTP your connection becomes a lot more stable and reliable so you may wish to consider dropping the halo 3 package which is quite expensive.  BT will try and persuade/ insist you retain halo but your choice

Re: Full fibre Upgrade for existing BT Halo3 customer

Thank you for the information

Yes Openreach have been active in our area and I have had an email informing me we now have full Fibre available.

When I log in to my BT account there is a note which says that my current Broadband can't be renewed and I will

have to take FULL FIBRE if /when I need to renew my contract

What I am trying to ascertain is what happens with my addons ie Voice calls and Sports when I have to take FULL FIBRE?

There is no mention of what to do if I wish to retail these addons?

Will these addons just rollover when I upgrade Broadband or will I have to renegoiate these addons separately?

Hope fully they will just rollover.

Having to upgrade the Broadband is bad enough without the hassle of renegoiating the addons

Re: Full fibre Upgrade for existing BT Halo3 customer

If you log into MyBT at the top of this web page, you'll probably see a link detailing your upgrade options, including the add-ons you have.  I would still look around, though, because if you don't poke BT, they can get somewhat expensive!

Re: Full fibre Upgrade for existing BT Halo3 customer

When you renew you will need to negotiate your total package - broadband and phone, phone call package, halo add-on and your TV package. It all renews at same time

@imjolly   Would that also include any mobile phone package?

Re: Full fibre Upgrade for existing BT Halo3 customer

Hello and Thank you for taking the  time to answer my query

I followed your suggestion and looked at my upgrade options in MyBT

Thsi is where I noticed a comment has been added that the current Broadband cannot be renewed when

the current contract expires.

The upgrade option was for Broadband only - There was no mention anywhere of my Calls package or my Sports Package.

Does this mean I cannot renew my current package of Broadband/Calls/Sport online but will have to contact BT over the phone and renegoiate a completely new package.

Thanks again for you help

Edward

Re: Full fibre Upgrade for existing BT Halo3 customer

@efelstead

as you now need to move to FTTP you need to arrange a new contract but you can still keep your phone and phone package and re-negotiate your tv contract.  you should still think about whether you need the expensive Halo add-on after moving to far more stable FTTP

your mobile contract is negotiated separately

try retention team 08007831401
