Don't worry the returns department are notoriously inefficient.
As long as you have proof of postage your good.
If it has been less than 3 weeks I would hold on for now, if its been longer then give them a call with the tracking number (Marked as barcode on the proof of postage) and it will be sorted
If you call BT Billing 0330.1234.150 with your Proof of Posting or your Proof of Receipt they will update your account.
As soon as the tracking said delivered I rang up billing and had the router flagged as returned manually.
I don’t trust any BT procedures.
