Re: If I stick with BT renewing in January for 2 years.....?

@rbz5416

"@Paul608085

Incorrect.

As I posted previously & your own link states:

"We then reduce the charge to take account of any costs we save because of you leaving early, such as wholesale costs.""

Yes, I did see that part, which is why I said "roughly" in my previous post. Those costs are unknown at this stage.

My point was, along with other posters in this thread, (and also similar posts on the Plusnet Forums), cancelling mid-contract is almost as expensive staying with it for its duration.

Re: If I stick with BT renewing in January for 2 years.....?

@gspearson I was in a similar position but rather than early termination decided to have a short overlap of services as they weren’t using the same infrastructure. The small extra cost for a couple of weeks is saving 60% on Fibre900 based on current prices and no budge from BT for signing up for another 2 years.

As laying the fibre will be disruptive of our garden, and armed with the info you all have provided I think I will move to Zen in the next couple of months (when the garden is dormant and accessible).
