I have just logged into my account and been notified that my landline contract has been cancelled, except I didn't cancel it
How can I prevent this happening as I don't want to end the service or lose my number

No, but I did recently upgrade my broadband with Plusnet.
So why are you posting on the BT forum instead of the Plusnet forum?
you need to contact Plusnet but Plusnet are no longer providing a phone service so if you want a landline style phone then you either have broadband and phone contract with BT or another ISP or a VOIP phone from an independent provider
Perhaps you need to ask on their forum instead?

They are a separate company within the BT Group, and as explained, they do not provide a phone service anymore.
