Its true I use SMARTY family. 4 of us on SIM only deals and its a month rolling contract so we can get out anytime. More family members join more discount you get. Kids are on £9 for 100gb data unlimited txt and calls. Wife is on £6 for 30gb, think I`m on £8 for 50gb. Note -You can not message the premium 5 digit competition numbers.

Uses 3 network.

Re: Merger of BT and EE ie NEW EE

Go to solution

I keep getting messages from a company called EE whom I don't recognise other than English Electric. I have assumed that this is some sort of scam, so have always deleted them. Now my family tell me that EE ( whoever they are ) are taking over BT. Why ?

So I looked at a message that I had trashed, and it is full of colourful adverts for things I don't understand. I was attracted by one that said " Or you can pay less for your current package.", but I can't find any more about this.

Can you ask EE to send BT customers easy to read information, please, and not wrapped up as deals or offers

The goalposts have been moved.  According to recent reports, the new CEO of BT Group, Allison Kirkby, has now “shelved” the original re-branding strategy “amid concerns that dropping the historic brand risked alienating older customers”.  Expect more news of this in due course.

It was never called new EE and BT continued selling broadband right up till this pointless doomed endeavour bit the dust.

Re: Merger of BT and EE ie NEW EE

I have received my final bill from BT - comprising a refund.  At the top is the message ' We're really sorry to see you go'.  Well I didn't ask to go! I have been a customer of BT for nearly fifty years, from telephone to internet to mobile phone to TV.  Bit by bit my services have been transferred from BT to EE.  Why the pretence that all this has happened at my behest?

it may have been presented as you didn't have a choice but you did and must have agreed to any move from BT to EE

@JohnGray

You said you received "your final bill from BT"

I hope that is the case.

I was with BT mobile for years, then I applied over 13 months ago to upgrade to FFTP with BT broadband.

Within a few days I thought the EE hub (WiFi 6/)  would be better than the BT hub2 so I cancelled the BT Broadband and applied to switch my copper/broadband to EE.

My BTmobile Sims were transferred to a EE account ( which increases annually by a significant amount, unlike the BTmobile deals ).

I only realised after 6 months that both BT Broadband and EE Broadband were charging me monthly for the same service.

With many calls the BT Fibre  broadband team did refund the BT charges for the fibre when they saw I was paying it to EE also.

I am still getting emails from BT mobile to say my monthly bill  is ready!!! After 15 months of transfering my BTmobile family Sims to EE!!

Remember the original post in the thread was about BT and EE merging, and I apologise for diverging further but when requesting new contract we as consumers should be allowed shorter contracts.

How many of you have 30 day rolling SIM only contracts on your phone.

How many 30 day rolling contracts do BT Broadband or EE Broadband offer?

How many 30 day Full Fibre Broadband Contracts are available.

Maybe need to start a new thread, or a parliamentary petition!!!
