Misold halo, now bt refusing to put me back on old contract

Hello. Sorry to post, but I don't know where to turn to! On the 29th Jan 2024 I contacted BT to remove my line rental as my the line rental saver was due to finish. I was told my broadband contract was coming to an end and he could do me a deal for HALO 3 for £30.50 with no increases in 24 months which I agreed to. On the initial bill however the charge was £60 which was not made clear. I tried to contact BT to cancel HALO in my 14 day cooling off period and was told to send the equipment back, which I did and to phone back to see what deal I could get once the cancellation had completed. On calling back, they said I could get a joint broadband with EE for £35. After completing credit checks, we had to accept the contract via an app which did not work due to a glitch on BT's side. They promised they would call back the following week, which never happened. Phoned again, and BT said could not access the £35 offer anymore and a manager would call back. After calling today, they have subsequently they have said we have signed up for a 24 month deal which we never agreed to at £50. BT are not willing to put us back on our original contract or the £35 deal which was offered. I am 73 and have been struggling to get an affordable deal which suits my needs and BT management are not calling me back and refusing to send details of our chats on an email.

Has anyone got any suggestions as I really cannot afford £50 for broadband on a pension

Re: Misold halo, now bt refusing to put me back on old contract

do you get government pension credit with guaranteed element?

if so you could move onto https://www.bt.com/broadband/home-essentials even in contract.

if calling BT and the forum team is unable to help

you can

request a copy of your chat / calls via: https://www.bt.com/privacy-policy/#collapse1Standard1-col-parsys--7909087107747957013

note: this requires you have a email and do some vaildation stuff.
