Hi, Received my latest monthly bill for BT services today, and noticed there was a £39.99 extra charge for set up fees added. Back about a fortnight ago i requested a BT Pro TV box to replace my older T2100 model, got it, all working great, and was under the impression a £29.99 fee would be added (£20.00 set up of the box, £9.99 postage) not the £39.99 i have been charged. Seems that is the fee you will be charged if you are a new customer (i am not, been with BT TV for years) and require a Smart Hub (i did not as i already have one with my Halo Broadband). Anyone have any ideas if we have been overcharged or have i overlooked something?
Many Thanks

Hi @GarryJ, sorry the charge isn't what you were expecting. Did you recontract from 24 months as part of the order?
Cheers
John
Thanks for the reply. I originally recontracted for 24 months earlier in the spring and moved over to Halo3+, i phoned to order a BT Pro box in September, checking in MyBT, i can see that it seems i was indeed reconracted for my BT package again at the same time as i ordered the Pro, as my contract now ends on 18 Sep 2024.
I would phone BT again and ask why you was reconnected to another 24 months contract after asking to get the pro box to replace your older box. As you was still in contract.
BT should have told you that you would be put on another 24 month contract.
At times I think BT are get at it with there contracts and charges.
They should make things more clearer.
Hi @GarryJ, thanks for getting back to me and I've sent you a Private Message so you can get in touch with us for help resolving this.
Cheers

Thanks for the reply, yes, i recontracted back in May, we were moved onto a new deal for the Halo3+ package for Broadband (worked out quite a bit cheaper than what we were paying) got sent a Hybrid Connect and our mobile was moved from BT Mobile to EE (we changed to a much better phone). When i last month phoned about the Pro box, there was no mention of another 24 month contract having to start (if that was the correct thing to do, no problem), i was just a bit confused about the total set up price that was added to my bill.
Thank you, John, private message sent.
