landline provider

Go to solution

I'm moving to a property that has a talktalk provided landline & broadband, but the bt wholesale checker isnt recognizing the phone number.

I know its a bt dsl checker but I sorta assumed it was effectively an openreach checker and hence a landline would be more accurate than an address potentially.

any advice?  Im trying to figure out the potential for fibre broadband, thats all.

thanks in advance.

@whynotask

Use the address checker for your new address, on the link below, and post the results, but edit out your address details first.

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

Hi, @whynotask They have their own exchange equipment so BT Wholesale is not involved in the provision of the service, hence no results when using the number.

Thanks

Neil

Thank you. I have checked this, and shared results on my other thread. All ISPs have told me very slow speeds available, and the dsl checker shows unavailable/waiting list for FTTC and SOGEA respectively. Likely a cabinet full issue.

@whynotask

There is no separate checker, as Talk Talk still use Openreach.

As you have been told, there is no spare capacity on the Openreach cabinet.

What's the plan, keep starting new threads until you get a different answer?

Re: landline provider

Appreciate everyone's help.
Only started a 2nd thread to understand how to check databases using a phone number, not about the original address checker.
Have learnt that talk talk phone numbers don't show up on bt's dsl checker.
