Is your BTID an email address?
Do you have more than one account on your BTID? If so check you are using the correct account.

You were right - I changed my login to my email address rather than username and this solved the problem, although the transfer for each machine still is a pain

I had the same problem. I tried to follow the recommended solution but first had to change my logon id to my email address. I seem to be playing catch-up here. I don't remember being notified by BT that 1) we have to change login ID to email address and 2) that BT Virus Protect was switching from McAfee to Norton.
