Hi,
BT have enabled web protect for me, but I don't want it, I already have my existing security programme doing that for me and don't need anything else.
I've followed the instructions but instead of taking me to a turn it off screen under security settings it's defaulting to a help web page. I've also looked at a lot of the posts on here which read pm mod.
Can anyone help me turn it off please, thanks in advance.
if you got to MYBT then security manage then you should see BT web protect and be able to turn off
Thank you for taking the time to reply, MYBT however doesn't have a tab for security manage for me.
Can you tell me which tab to look under by any chance,
Your bills and usage, Your products, Upgrade, Your Details, Orders and faults (log out)
Hi @Vossy1 it's under Your products, then Broadband. Scroll down the page and you'll see the option to disable it.
Neil
Hi @NeilO Thanks for the reply.
My products, takes me to a tabs screen with broadband on it with the words Add Now in it, clicking that takes me to a deals page, scroll down it's just a standard BT footer
If I scroll down the tabs screen pre broadband there's a help section with security on the bottom but it's just help topics.
@Vossy1 That sounds like you're logged into a MyBT account that doesn't have broadband.
Are you sure you're logging in with the primary BT ID? Also if you have more than one account associated with your BT ID you need to make sure that you've chosen the correct one from the drop-down.
Thanks
Neil
@NeilO yes, I'd agree re that account not having broadband associated with it.
Yes it's my primary BT ID, my e-mail, I have no other...the plot thickens...ha ha
Come to think of it you may be on to something. When I changed to fibre, BT created a new account for me, however the old one still existed as a option on the drop down as you say. That option has now gone, only the 1 account showing on the drop down and I think it's the wrong 1....oh joy!!...tbc
Hi @Vossy1, thanks for the update. Check out Adding an account on My BT | BT Help for the steps to add the account to your BTID.
cheers
