How to request a static Public IP

Hi team

I would like to get a public IP address outside of my home network.

To clarify and pre-empt any questions, I am not asking what my current Public IP is.

What I am looking for is to acquire a public IP address outside of my home network which can be accessed for the internet so I can configure some NAT rules to pivot into my home network when I am outside.

Can anyone suggest how to request an additional public IP address to BT and if this comes with a cost, please

Many thanks

@vbianconi88

BT Retail only supply a single dynamic IP addresses, so you would have to use a DDNS service which is supported by the BT Home Hub, and that would give you a domain name which will always point to your home hub. That will allow you to do what you are asking.

I believe BT Business give you the option of more than one static IP address.

If you have a webhost that runs CPanel, you can run a script that updates a subdomain with your dynamic address. I do that access my NAS when I changed from Plusnet who offered static IPs
