Norton Security and file downloads

Go to solution

I have Norton installed but it appears you have little control over what it does. I have been trying to download a file update for a specific genealogy programme, however, Norton kicks in a then deletes the file. I cannot find any way to prevent it and cannot even find a way to turn it off. Any suggestions?

@SnapperRod welcome to the community and thanks for posting. Have you checked if the file has been put into quarantine? this link explains it in more detail.

Thanks

Re: Norton Security and file downloads

Neil cheers but I found a workaround.

Log in to My BT, Click My BT, Your Security, BT Virus Protect, Norton site opens, View Devices, click Bin sign and Remove icon. Your security icon turns red, download the file and do the updates. Double click the red security icon, log into your account via Noton and Norton security is reactivated.

Long-winded way but it worked.
