Mine has been resolved now, both hotspots have stopped broadcasting today! Horray! I guess it updated itself or someone within bt sorted it after my complaint.

Re: Opt Out of btwifi x hotspots

I had the problem that opting out on the website did not stop the BTWiFi and BTWiFi-X SSIDs continuing to run. In my case I had made various tweaks to the router to feed an external router. I had turned off the the normal main user SSID on both 2.5 and 5 GHz bands. I had changed the admin password. I had changed the local network address range from 192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.101.0/24. I had added a DMZ address.

I used the Factory Reset button on the router, and as soon as I started it, it had its default BT configured user SSIDs and no BTWiFi SSIDs.

I suspect that some of the configuration changes I had made prevented the the remote control of the BTWiFi feature.

Having redone all my configuration changes, I opted back in on the website - and that did not start up the BTWiFi SSIDs, just the BTHub6-???? main SSID,

So my suggestion is that if the router BTWiFi state is stuck out of sync with your opt in/out state on the website, try a factory reset on the router (after noting any personal configuration setting so you can put them back.)
