Safesearch Locked On
Safesearch has decided to lock itself on with no apparent way to disable it on any device that's connected to WiFi. (we have the 4G router and never had this issue in the ~14 months we've had it)
Parental controls are set to off and I can't for the life if me see any other setting that could be changed. Any ideas how to sort this?

Re: Safesearch Locked On
Hi, @DirtyHarry88 SafeSearch is a feature provided by Google. Filter explicit results using SafeSearch - Android - Google Search Help
Thanks

Re: Safesearch Locked On
Yes but it's the network that's locking it on. It's not possible for me to disable it on any browser, on any device.
There's no issue using 4G on my phone, it's only when switching to WiFi. I had got in touch with BT who said they sorted it but it made no difference, just haven't been bothered enough to speak to them again since.

Re: Safesearch Locked On
As @NeilO posted this is controlled by Google. I typed safesearch into Chrome browser and immediately gave me a link to manage and also showed that I had it switched off.

Re: Safesearch Locked On
Ok then in what scenario would safesearch be locked on whether in google or bing on WiFi only yet switching to 4G on my phone has no issues?

Re: Safesearch Locked On
It will probably be because the feature is IP address based and by switching between wifi and 4G you will be getting a different public IP address. Try clearing your cookies and cache and see if that allows you to turn off Safesearch.

Re: Safesearch Locked On
Hi, I'm getting exactly the same error!
My Safe Search is locked to 'On' 'filtered' when I'm on my BT wifi (I'm on 4G home Broadband too)
The only way to switch is off is to drop to my 5G (Three) cellular connection.
It even says it's 'Network Controlled' ie BT have switched something that stops the setting from being change, like a School or Library does! But it's not either of those!! It my own personal broadband that I pay an extortionate amount for!!!
It's nothing to do with Google, as it happens to my wife, and anyone that connects to my broadband!

Re: Safesearch Locked On
I meant to reply to this saying as much. I wasn't going to clear all my cookies etc. and have that pain in the backside given it was the same with any device.
Switch between 4G and WiFi on the phone and it's only on WiFi the safe search is locked on.
I've not bothered getting in touch with BT again.

Re: Safesearch Locked On
I have exactly the same problem with my 4G broadband. Spoke first to BT who advised it was my settings. This is not the case. Chatted with them and they said it would be fixed and I would be advised when that happened. Nothing. I then raised a complaint which has dragged on for weeks with nothing resolved. It is clear that BT mobile put this safe search on, as do other mobile companies, and it should be removed on request.
