Ah, well that's what you get for not reading the whole thread.
It was messages 11 & 12 on the thread posted in the link given by gg30340 earlier. The OP thought it meant pages rather than messages, so couldn't find them.
Thanks, for explaining on 11/12 is this a permeant or will a will a firmware update solution required
I would suspect permanent, but who can say?
As I said in message 23 of that thread, no company today advertises what it has done or why or what they are really intending to do in the future for security reasons.
The problem is that browsers are getting to the stage where they use HTTPS as the default. In fact, I’ve even heard a rumour that Google will shortly discontinue support for HTTP all together. (Personally, I’ll believe that one when I see it).
That may be the driving force behind this change, as the Google engine is what powers a lot of modern browsers, including Edge, Brave & Chrome, etc.
This may be the first time you have encountered it, but this “not secure” warning is quite common on systems I’ve worked on over the years, and its origins go all the way back to 2017.
As I said, the important thing is to stop and think about what you are accessing in the context of the warning. If it’s an internal system, it doesn’t matter if the traffic is not encrypted. A lot of internal traffic on industrial systems is still not encrypted even today, because you automatically trust things inside your own network, so it doesn’t need the extra processing load of encryption and decryption.
this is normal just press proceed anyway if you acessing hub manger
browse somewhere else and you will see you still have acess to internet
HI shakey 1981
Re thank you for replying
I have been informed numerous occasions that the security warning is fine to proceed
I knew this before i started the blog on this subject
the Point i was making that this security issue was only after last firmware up on BT 13 th December 2025
i was not asking the Question is fine to proceed with the security Question
THe point I was making the negative response from BT who are responsible for this not the Browser Microsoft ETC
i am disappointed with BT initial response was it will be fixed now they have changed their tune with being 2 months later & does not seem to be interested in a FIX
Well now you have confused the issue.
If you are not asking if it is safe to proceed, exactly what are you asking?
Asking if this is a temporary change is a bit like asking is electricity a temporary aberration and when do we go back to gas lighting? 🤣🤣🤣
his wasent a temp isue this was introduced via router firmware update
check the date of the last firmware update in router hub manager
should be around december 2025
was updated to include this
no offence bt if a bt guide told you this was temp issue they were wrong (if you can call an update to improve security an issue)
no offencce to bt guides but dont know much i only everycontact them for major faults that I can tsort myself
It'll be impressive if it was December'26! 🤣🤣🤣
HI WSH
I am struggling to find your comparison with updating from Gas Lighting to Electric Lightning which is an update in technology unlike a security Warning which i have been informed of a fine to proceed security Warning
I am here to ask Questions not a comparison with no relevance to this Subject
