I keep trying to activate BT Virus protect, and all I get is a message on the screen 'Server error please try again'. I have confirmed that I am the 'Account holder' but still can't get it to activate!!!!! There are no other account managers, and I am the only account holder. What is the solution, as this is driving me mad!
Hi @wrayd21
Welcome to the community.
What kind of device are you trying to activate it on? Are you connected to a VPN?
Chris
A stand alone PC.
There is no VPN on the desktop PC.
OK, thanks @wrayd21
Are you following the steps on this 'What is BT Virus Protect and how do I get it?'? How far do you get before you see the error?
Chris
I'll try this when I'm back home, which will be in a couple of days, so I will update you later this week.
Im getting that too. trying to install on wimdows 11 and keep getting error messages
I've sorted it out now. I went onto my security. Clicked, "Learn more" on BT Virus Protect. Then "Manage", in the popup window. Next, I clicked on "Protect Another Device". This brought up a screen with a QR code that can be scanned, or an area to enter your email address for a link to be sent to you. I used the email method. In the email was a link to download BT Virus protect. I clicked the download and installed it from the downloaded file. This worked for me. There are also links in the email to Norton for BT Virus protect with lots of help issues.
