@Attheend Is probably expecting the TV to switch automatically to the Box Pro input by CEC, and it won’t, it has to be done manually.
Yes the BT instructions said to hit the power button on the remote and everything would automatically go from there.
Not every tv will automatically switch to the correct input, in which case you will need to use the source button to find the correct input.
It will set the remote up, but it won’t switch the TV to the correct input.
You need to look and see which HDMI the Box Pro is plugged into, make sure it is switched on, and then press the Source button on your Cello remote, more than once if needed, until it shows the TV is displaying the signal from that HDMI input.
You have been told this about six different ways above, so why I’m doing it a seventh time heaven knows; but none of your replies so far appear to show that you have taken this advice on board, and even tried to apply it 😢
Finally. Having rheumatic hands (4 of them) has been a handicap but the BT Community would have earned loadsa dosh if it were a commercial activity. I gave kudos to everyone who helped I hope but accepted Midnight Man's solution as he has been there practically from the start and when I was ready to give up. All I wanted was a system as close as possible to my old one and I've got it. Thank you all.
I appreciate your frustration. Mainly because there was someone standing over my shoulder insisting this was wrong, that was wrong until I no longer knew what was what. Thank you.
Sorry didn't realise I didn't say. It was the source button on the TV remote. I was following the BT instruction book and what the BT techies (2 different ones) told me. It was the BT Community that figured it out.
