Ham Radio Interference HELP

Go to solution

As a Ham Radio operator  I  TX on  2M but unfortunately it is pixelating my TV screen.

I have errected a new D-50 antenna which is 6 ft above the TV aerial and about 6 ft away horizonal

Is the filtering on the BT box any good?  I am told by others it is not.

Any comments would be apprecated.

I have sussed it!  For anyone else with a similar problem;

Disconnect the TV aerial,  then BT box will work without it,  we also had the output socket connected to the spare room tv,  to make sure that also worked connect the  TV aerial lead to the output lead..... 100% success!

But doesn't that mean you will not be able to receive any Freeview TV channels?

And if your set up is causing interference to TV reception then your neighbours may also be affected and I am pretty sure as a radio ham it is your responsibility to make sure your set up does *not* cause interference to other radio users.

Hi Gomezz

Thank you for your response.  Yes you are quite correct I will not be able to receive Freeview.  But that is why I have the BT box to receive more.  My TX aerial is far enough away from neighbours so their system does not get swamped by my meagre 5 watts of RF.

Regards JB
