Internet mode

Hi folks,

 

I've recently received my second BT Box after a hiccup with the original order. My first box has been working quite nicely in Internet mode for a couple of months now but the second, connected to the Internet via TP Link, is not allowing an option for Internet mode when I reset the box.

I'm comfortable with the screen I need to look out for as I did it successfully with the first box. Is there any reason I can't have Internet mode on the second?

What's your line speed? the minimum requirement for extra box is 35Mbps, possibly 44Mbps or more if you have the UHD package

try setting the new box up via ethernet

Did you remove the aerial cable after you had set up the first box, and it is still disconnected when trying to set up the second box? You will only get the ‘choice’ screen with this connected. You can then remove the aerial connection again after setting up internet mode

Wrong way round @GarethPrice - you only get offered internet mode if the aerial is NOT connected during initial set up.  If you then choose aerial mode, it'll then tell you to connect an aerial.
