Re: Missing programmes endings when recorded

The aerial comes in to it but main contact is through from the router. However the point is, that’s the way the BT engineer set it up & it doesn’t work

@gilgra

The router and anything from the internet doesn’t come into this. T1000 boxes, which are no longer served by YouView except for a few corner situations, still work as far as recording broadcast programmes go.

There is nothing a BT engineer could do to overcome the fundamentally bad design decisions in the way the YouView boxes operate with the timing of recordings.

YouView could improve matters with a well-understood upgrade to add padding, but it seems that EE are powerless to bring this about 😢

Re: Missing programmes endings when recorded

I have my Pro Box in Aerial Mode.  Signal Strength is always 90+% and Signal Quality is typically 100%.     Last week I thought I’d record the documentary on Channel 5 about Stormy Daniels.

I sat down to watch it on Friday only to be presented with the ‘Partial Recording’ alert, I don’t know what the problem was.

Having had the Pro Box for a couple of years now I wasn’t one bit surprised by this. I’ve got EETV on a good deal so I suck up it’s problems, one of which is (in my experience) it isn’t a totally reliable DVR.

Re: Missing programmes endings when recorded

Not used the pro box but do have the T2100 Youview Humax box thats a good few years old now.
It still works and gets some minor software updates still but most of the main updates seem to be now for the pro box.

My first box was the T1000 but that packed  in over 6 years ago.

Still love Youview but at once in a while I think the software is starting to look a little outdated compared to some other services out there.

@ney

There was always an undercurrent of discontent about YouView’s use of ‘Accurate Recording’; but either EETV users are much less tolerant than YouView users in general, or there is something else going on.

What EETV needs at this juncture is chapter and verse on truncated programmes; what programme, what channel, what date and time, and where exactly it cut off, all as soon as possible after the programme finishes.

Then EETV can see if all the cutoffs can be explained by Accurate Recording or not.

Re: Missing programmes endings when recorded

We’ve got a Pro tv box and I’ve never once got the end of the MNF on Sky Sports. I record it every time it’s on so that I can fast forward through the ads by watching on chase play before ko, and go and watch something else when the match has finished. I can then watch the post match stuff the following day. I don’t think I’m missing much, but it is annoying all the same.

Re: Missing programmes endings when recorded

@Brucemeister5

I guess Sky Sports is from one of the 300 upwards channels, which means that the Present/Following indicator has to be synthesised by Sky, or by EETV, and isn’t coming over the airwaves. It ought to still work properly though, even though it’s not the same as for the channels up to 300.

Have you still got chapter and verse for last time, and/or can you collect it for next time?
