Re: No channels over IP

One thing I love about these forums is you guys teach me new things every day.
This one was a new one for me - your line is crossed with one of your neighbours, meaning you're getting their broadband connection instead of your own. We can see your BT hub, and can confirm that it's being allocated a TalkTalk IP address.

An engineer is being booked to correct this - you'll receive email confirmation shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

@DarrenDev

Crossed lines do happen, and with the withdrawal of the analogue PSTN network, proving it can be almost impossible, as there is no dial tone, so a normal 17070 check will not work.

Openreach Field Technicians have to resort to tracing the line by applying a tone and listening for it on the correct pair, which is far more time consuming.

@DarrenDev

We are going to have to start asking users if they have the BT skin, as presumably @roberino ‘s box would be showing the TalkTalk one? 😛
