Recordings

My TV box records programmes but over the last few months keeps saying failed to record and you cannot watch the recording. I’ve tried several factory resets but it keeps happening. How do I stop this happening?

Re: Recordings

This is probably down to the ongoing EPG issues since an enforced change in data suppliers. There's nothing they can do at the moment, we've just got to wait for the new people to become a bit less terrible.

Re: Recordings

hi @Level42  have you contacted and reported your problems directly to BT or EE as they should be able to evaluate whether the problem is due to EETV data or some other issue with your box or connections

Re: Recordings

Yes - they just advise to do factory resets.

This thread from the EE community forums is interesting. The OP is formerly of this parish, but no longer posts on here as he is now an EE customer. Although it refers to recording sport, the general principle is valid in my own experience. Sometimes my scheduled recordings disappear and I have to re-instate them. I also cancelled some of my recordings over the weekend myself. In both cases all of the original scheduled recordings come up as failed.

Re: Recordings

I have set a recording for MNF tonight. It has the generic thumbnail ( see thread from EE forum above) which means that it will fail and I will need to be on hand to set the recording manually. Fortunately I will be at home tonight but don’t want to watch live, but I will catch up with the recording tomorrow to cherry pick the analysis bits out of it.

Re: Recordings

I’m very pleased to report that my recording of MNF succeeded without any intervention from me. My recording of the NBA overnight is also complete and ready to watch. This does suggest to me that progress is being made here. Although my original scheduled recording of MNF which I set up at the beginning of last week and disappeared from my list still came up as failed.
