My response above was intended to be a reply to gomezz, and my reference to 'your opening sentence' obviously relates to his communication. Apologies for any confusion, but I'm new to all this!
Thank you.

Ah ok yes - so you're comparing an offline T1010 with an online 9300T. The TV Guide will be massively inferior, as it only has access to the Freeview information provided over the aerial. You're also comparing the YouView experience with the raw Humax experience, which will be very subjective.

For me, the biggest drawback of the T1000 series is just how painfully slow they are. They take forever to boot, and you spend half your time waiting for things to appear on screen. I personally couldn't ever cope with needing to use one again - there are so many newer and better options out there.

I may have missed something but if the old 9300T still provides a serviceable solution to watching and recording Freeview programmes on the DTT broadcast platform then you could augment it with a modern, comparatively inexpensive Chromecast or Firestick dongle plugged into a different HDMI socket on the TV to gain access to all the usual (and not so usual) online services like iPlayer, Youtube, Netflix etc that are out there.

Actually have you check if your new B&O TV supports casting itself?  If so then not even any need for a plug in dongle.

I wonder what it’s been doing for the last 17 years?
