BT are heavily pushing me to move to EE Broadband.
They have not ever mentioned or made any commit about what happens to the BT EMAIL Accounts that I've had since they first offered it. I know it was BT Yahoo under covers initially, then BT hosted.
Point being I can find nothing in the FAQ's about continued email support for moving to EE.
Premium Email service is expensive. Rumours they will shut email down have been rife in the past.
So, is BT Email included in the EE Broadband package exactly as it is in my current BT Broadband package (ie for free) or will they charge and will they eventually turn this off and foce us all to use gmail or some other free service. as they have with BT Cloud?
I estimate I would have to change hundreds of accounts and apps, IF I had to change my email address. And likelt wouldn't get a decent name. No, this is not an exaggeration. You'd be surprised how many places you've got your email registered. It would be a complete nightmare if I had to change my emails. (Wife and son in same position - family account).
I know in 2023 they said this ... but whats todays message ? .

No – customers who move to New EE can continue using their e-mail service at no extra charge.
I have asked the moderators to respond to this.
As per the advert on the BT home page, I am thinking of swapping from BT to EE for my broadband as it is cheaper, can you tell me if I will be able to keep my BT email addresses if I change as BT is becoming EE?

The answer was definitely yes you will be able to keep it but as this was the position a few months ago the forum is seeking clarity that that is still the case. We can confirm if you are migrating from BT to EE your email services will remain as they are.

It would be useful if they would state this in the documents being sent to convince us to move.
ie. That the FULL EMAIL allowance as per current broadband, will be honoured and continue.
Number of email addresses. Emails passed to family members. etc. As Premium service at no charge.
AND For as long as we continue with EE Broadband.
I do not want to move to then find I have to buy email service in one years time.
This needs to be in the FAQ and TERMS of any EE Broadband offer. Surely its basic info.
I very much doubt that you will get an unlimited time guarantee that your email account will stay for as long as you have EE Broadband. That would mean that as long as EE was in existence that they would have to keep the BTMail system working.
Most ISPs are dropping email as part of their package so I expect that some time in the future BT/EE will drop the email service. BT stopped offering it to new customers some time ago.
The premium service is just the same as the standard service that you presently have.
You could always get a free email service such as gmail.
