I have 2 email accounts with my BT. I'm leaving on March 20. If i downgrade to basic can I keep both BT emails and access them on basic. BT told me I could only keep 1 account.
Also what happens to all the old BT emails that you ahve already have in your MAC outlook mail. Does BT delete them or can you always access old emails once they have been accessed on your computer.
Thanks.

If you have a BT Broadband account and you have used that account to set up any number of the eleven email accounts that you are entitled to with the broadband account, when you leave BT Broadband you will be able to keep all of those email accounts that are already active.
As per the following link
"Just one BT email address. You won’t be able to create new ones, but any you already have will still work"
This is not well worded but is meaning if you only have one email address, that is all you will get however if you have more than one email address already activated they will all be moved to BTMail Basic

If you have downloaded your emails to your device, ie using a POP3 account, they will be stored on your computer so they can be accessed on the computer using your email client/app but the email client/app will not be able to access the BT servers.
Depending on how you set up the email client/app it may be that once the emails were downloaded onto your computer they were deleted from the server and as such would not be available using web mail on a browser.
If they have not been downloaded onto your computer, ie you use an IMAP account which synchronises and reflects what is on the BT server, you will not be able to use the email client/app to access them. Instead you will need to use webmail (using a web browser) to access them from the BT server.
Thank you so much for your detailed response. Thank you for clarifying that BT basic allows you to keep two email accounts. One is mine, One is my daughters.
I thing I underestand what you are saying re: old emails. I just have old business emails from 2012 on my computer with attachments and I don't want them to disappear forever. I have to check if my Mac Outlook uses IMAP>
Thank you.
My outlook does use IMAP but the emails are on my Computer outlook will they disappear. If they are old, and they are already read on my computer.
Thanks.
They should still remain on your computer, but your mail client will no longer sync with the server to update.
If your mail client has the ability to create offline folders, do so and move the mails to them to make doubly sure they won't be deleted.
If it doesn't have the capability of offline folders, simply install Thunderbird which does have offline folders and download all your mail.
