Hello!
Has the new BT Webmail imposed limits again on how many people I can send an email to?
I have to send out emails to all my club members (134) and I have started getting error 452 too many recipients.
This happened a few years ago as well and I had to send out emails in groups of 16 members, not very practical.
Cheers
Solved! Go to Solution.
A group email is limited to 49 recipients. This has been the limit for many years.
It's only in the last few weeks that I have noticed messages telling me "Too Many Recipients".
Seems, strange. Also is there a problem with BT Webmail, I'll explain.
I reinstalled Windows 10 on Sunday as it was giving me problems. I installed office and fired up outlook.
I received the test message and nothing from 7 pm on Sunday until 10 am yesterday when I got a whole batch delivered in one go.
I even had a call from someone who had sent my an email at 8 am yesterday asking me if I had read it. I checked and it wasn't there until 10 am. Any ideas?
Cheers,
C
Were the email showing on the BT servers.
Depending on how many emails you have on the BT servers it can take Outlook an age to first synchronise when it is installed.
No when I logged into webmail, they were not displayed.
There may have been a problem with the email server you were connected to. Is your email account now working as expected?
At present as far as I know, yes.
Hi @enfield250 welcome back to the community and thanks for posting, I've checked with the email team and can confirm the group sending limit in webmail is set to 100 recipients.
Thanks
Neil
Thanks for checking and the update.
I'd recommend taking a look at Mailchimp. You can have two target lists (Audiences) on a free account & it saves messing around with splitting messages & remembering to use BCC. Also keeps you GDPR compliant by automatically giving options to unsubscribe.
I use it to run a syndicate for buying heating oil & currently have 234 subscribers on one list & a dozen suppliers on the other. It's worked flawlessly for me.
