How do you send an email to a new contact? I can reply to an email received on my mobile but cannot see how to add a new contact and send an email to him/her

Presumably you are wanting to send an email to somebody while using your BTMail account on a computer or using a web browser on another device.

You enter the "new" contact's email address into your contacts list. If you log onto your email account and go to "Contacts" in the menu bar at the top then click on "New" then "Add Contact" and fill out the relevant details. You do not need to enter something into every box. Once don click "Save"

If you have already received an email from the contact you can open the email then go to the contacts email address at the top of the email and click on it. This will open an option to create/add the email address to your contacts list. Click on that then do as above.

Yes you will have a contacts list/folder on your phone that you will need to enter the contact's details into however you  would need to give the make and model of your mobile phone and which mail app you are using before a more detailed answer can be given.

Thanks for the info. I know I have a long list of contacts in my phone and I know how to add a new contact but did not realise that BT uses this listing.  How do I place some of these contacts in a Contacts Group using my mobile?

If you are using an Android phone you open your contacts list and at the top you will see three dots. Click on that and click on Group then click on Create. Follow the prompts and then click Save.

I don't use an iPhone but there are plenty guides on the Internet.

I have no idea if the BTMail app uses the phone's contacts list or not as I do not use the BTMail app.

I don't use it either, but it is configurable to use either the device contact list, server contact list or both.

Personally, I would recommend using s proper mail app such as Blue Mail or Aqua Mail

I have just had time to follow the instructions you gave me yesterday (I was out yesterday evening).  Unfortunately when I click on the three dots the only options given are Select, Select All and Customise View.  I am using a Motorola Android phone.

I have an Android phone.

I go to the phone's Contacts App and on opening it I see my full list of contacts. Once there I click on the three dots at the top left and it opens a box with the following:- Groups, Delete, Share, Manage contacts, Settings.

If I select Groups it opens a new page where I know have the option to Create a new group.

If your phone does not have that then sorry I am not able to offer any more help.

My phone definitely does not have those options there.  I will get on to the suppliers of the phone to see if they have a solution to my  problem.  Many thanks for your help.
