I am utterly sick of BT.
And my life does not revolve around trying to fix its mess.
Oops that is a mistake, I should have said it’s many messes.
The BT Mail app was working and then it stopped.
Send out a software update to fix it. That is what any decent software supplier would do.

Thank you for posting. I'm sorry if you're experiencing issues with the BT Email App on your iPad.
If you haven't already tried, please can you uninstall the app, restart that iPad and reinstall the app? Restarting the device before reinstalling it should clear any cached information.
