Office 365 and BT email

Hi,

I know others have had issues.  I have just purchased Office 365 and sign in with my btinternet.com address.

Outlook is working fine with my Gmail accounts which I rarely use.  I am getting no error messages and test messages from the btinternet account appear to be sent in 365 but are not appearing on my BT mail nor back in the 365 Inbox.

I am not even sure where to find the email settings in 365 s please give me the full noddy guide if I have to change any of those.

Alternatively can I autoforward all btinternet emails to my gmail account?

I obviously can't set up another email alias as this is the primary email for the account.

As you can tell I am somewhat out of my depth!!   All help would be appreciated as I want to be able to use folders etc in Outlook that are not available on the bt webmail.

Thank you

Can't help with Office 365, I'm still using Outlook 2010, but you can forward your emails to your Gmail account in webmail settings.

Not sure what you mean by not being able to set up another alias.

Hi @Adiethesailor

How have you set up your BT email address in Outlook, POP or IMAP? It needs to be IMAP to reflect your activity in BT Mail.

Thank you Licquorice - I have found the auto-forward now so have set that up and it is working fine.

Re: Office 365 and BT email

Hi VeteranISPUser - thank you. I have now (Finally) found the settings and it is set to disallow POP but the IMAP settings are: Server name: outlook.office365.com
Port: 993
Encryption method: TLS
and the SMTP settings are:
Server name: smtp.office365.com
Port: 587
Encryption method: STARTTLS

That is surely not correct. Do you know what they should be set to?
Thanks again. Licquorice autoforward workaround is OK but not perfect so I would love to get it running correctly!
