You are not alone; what you describe is true and I have become frustrated too with the change. Why? Who knows. When did this change? I don't know but I used to create PDFs from printing emails for security purposes. Now right clicking on the email gives you the option of Print but only one page with the frame, not the whole emall.
Extremely annoying!
