Retaining BT email address

Go to solution

My mother has moved to a Care Home in the last week. If I cancel her broadband, which is out of contract, can she retain her BT email address?

There is no cost for Basic Mail. It is, however, only accessible via webmail.

I read it as £7.50pm. She has BT broadband at the Home so that is good news. Thanks.

The £7.50/m is for Premium mail if app/client access is required as well as webmail.

So if she is using an Apple Mail App on her iPad does she need to pay or not. Sorry to be thick about this!
I presume I could set her up with a new Outlook account without cost. Perhaps I am out of date!!

If she is using the Apple mail app on her iPad, then yes, it will require Premium mail at £7.50/m

If she uses the web browser on the iPad rather than the app, then no, Basic Mail will suffice.

If you decide on a different free mail provider, Gmail is preferable to Outlook in my opinion.
