Switching email accounts

Go to solution

I have two BT email addresses.  Why is it not possible to have both inboxes open at the same time in Windows?  It's so annoying having to "switch account" every time I want to check my other inbox.  Even if I do have two windows open, with one email inbox open in the first, if I try to sign on to my second address in the second window, the first open window automatically changes to the second window's sign on.

Why not use the proper tool for the job instead of the bodge of webmail. Just use a mail client such as the free Mozilla Thunderbird and you can have as many inboxes as you wish in one place.

Thank you for that.  However, I would like to see BT improve their webmail so that you can have more than one inbox open at a time - it can't be that difficult!

You can add other accounts to your BTMail webmail account by going into the settings found by clicking on your user name at the right hand side then going to "Mail" in the left hand column. Then go to "Accounts" and add the email address you want to have included.

The included email account will now show in the left had column below your "Main" accounts folders and can be accessed by clicking on it. To return to the "Main" account click on "Mail" button in the menu bar.

This will allow your BTMail account to act like an email client and you will be able to access the email accounts and Inboxes by clicking/swapping between them.

As regards getting BT to improve their webmail, good luck with that one!

THAT'S BRILLIANT - you are most definitely a Distinguished Sage!  It worked straight away, and it's also translated straight through to my mobile BTMail, which is something I've been attempting to figure out for some time!
