Re: Typing an email cursor keeps moving randomly to start and missing out letters

With respect to Distinquished Sage, we should not have to outsource a seperate program to sort out this problem. BT need to fix this pronto. Never had it on the previous format, so why now.? Trying to write a longer than normal email gets very frustrating as you suddenly find you are typing back at start again, or it somehow manages to delete several lines. It seems to me that BT can't be bothered with the email side of the business and are trying to push users into other forms of email so in time they will be able to shut id down completely.

Re: Typing an email cursor keeps moving randomly to start and missing out letters

With respect, the concept of using a web browser designed for browsing the web to deal with email is a complete anathema to me. A dedicated program designed for the job and not open to web developer's whims and fancies is a far superior method of dealing with email.

Sparkymike, I agree 100%. After writing a letter of complaint about the email problems, the patronising reply I received confirmed what you say about BT not interested in email. They suggested a third party service, with no apology for problems or indication it would be fixed.

if Google can make it work

As can MS Outlook and as could Yahoo...  They seem to have managed to make it work for many a year. But in the 2020's BT seem incapable of getting close.

I can imagine BT's  IT guys ,or maybe guy, looking at these replies and laughing, and think what next can we ,(or I),do to disrupt customers lives.

We are paying ,(dearly), for a service which is gradually becoming unfit for use. Will we get a refund?

As I repeatedly keep saying but get ignored, the service is fine, just use the right interface. I have no idea why folks are reluctant to use a proper mail client rather than the abomination that is webmail.

Because, if it isn't wholly obvious, the point of webmail is the ability to access mail anywhere, at any time, on whatever terminal is available.

That isn't to say that people don't use a mail client when at base or using a personal device (not everyone uses a smartphone) but accessing webmail should allow for some basic housekeeping...

At least you agree that BT Webmail is an abomination! But the point others are making is it should not be and it need not be because other providers have some reasonably decent implimentations.

heaven only knows why it was "Updated". The IT " specialists should adopt the US rule. "If it aint broke, don't fix it."           In addition to the other problems, if you scroll down a message, the print goes darker and becomes unreadable. Yesterday I was half way through a long email and the lot just vanished. Luckily a draft copy had been made which I found later.
