I have set up a group with 22 contacts in it. I want to send an email to that group but as bcc. I do not want to have to put in each email address separately as various 'help' sites suggest as that defeats the whole object of setting up a group. How can I achieve this please? Thanks.

Just simply put the group name in the Bcc field rather than the To field.
Bear in mind by sending as Bcc, Reply All won't work for the recipients, only you will get any replies whether sent as Reply or Reply All
Thanks. I've tried that. When I move to type in the message the group name disappears and the first contact on the list is added to the bcc field. I assumed that the list name would remain in the field and then an email would be sent to each of the members on that list. As it stands it seems that only number 1 will receive it. Having sent a message my husband, who is in the list, has not received the message although he has received another sent later so it does seem that only the first contact gets the message. Tedious to say the least.
When you enter the group name in the BCC field you should have a pop up appear below the group name similar to <group name>. Click on that and all the group names will then be entered into the BCC address box.
I don't use webmail, I use the proper tool for the job, but I have just created a group and tested it and it works just fine. Putting the group in the Bcc field is exactly the same as putting it in the To field. It expands the group in the field.
Solved it by renaming the group and that now appears as <xxx> as you said. Before, when I typed the group name, all of the members appeared in the <xxx> drop down as they have a suffix the same as the old group name. The old group name did not, however, appear in the list when I scrolled through. Many thanks.
