setting up external emal I can receive emails but not send any

Hi I have set up a external email within my bt email account. I can receive emails but can not send them and error message appears ' an error occurred when sending your mail. please try again'

does anyone have suggestions of how to fix this issue?

check you have the server settings correct

Hi I have a bt email acouunt and within this I have set up an external email (different from bt). so the link you sent applies to bt but not for external email.  are there any other ideas of how to fix this. I have called the helpline bt but no joy in fixing the issue, yet.

You need to ask the external email provider for the SMTP server details and enter them in the advanced section when adding the account.
