Moved house and downgraded to VDSL. After a brief trip to EE 5G I now have a new BT account with a new account number. yay.
I was told at the time that I could move my email addresses associated with the old account, but now I am being told that the old account will have to continue and I will have to pay £84 a year just to keep the account email address.
Is this true ?
Is there no way to associate my old BT account email address with the new account ?
I know I can just close this account and get basic web email (which I may do), but really ? I can't get a btinternet mail address onto my new account ?
Any help and advice appreciated.
Solved! Go to Solution.
You've been told wrong. There is no reason you can't associate your email address with your new account.
Cheers
They insist that it can't be done and I have to keep paying 🙂
Will try again
You should be able to do it yourself.
See link.
You may find that because your new BT Broaband can not set up new email accounts you will need to get BT to do it for you but the BT email team should be able to do it if you can't.
Hi @Gary_C.
Thanks for reaching out.
The team have looked into this and can confirm they have moved the mailboxes to the new account so you will not be required to pay for the premium service.
Please could you log back in and check?
Katie 🙂
