Yes I am getting the same error , both with my usual Firefox browser and the same when trying Microsoft Edge, but have been able to access via my Gmail app on my mobile
Did they give you any clue when we're likely to be back up?
No. It says "as soon as possible".
The Microsoft Outlook Ap on my mobile is still showing an up-to-date BT email inbox for my account. So, I can see new incoming messages that way.
Yes I cannot log in using email.bt.com
nslookup gets: "dsldevice.lan can't find prod-btemailauth.bt.com: Server failed"

My outlook can access my btinternet via imap
