I use Outlook on the desktop. All emails sent to my Btinternet address appear with all the codings, programming, etc that comes with an email, with no sender name or subhect appearing. Emails sent to my other email addresses appear correctly. This started yesterday.
Glad I am not alone!!!!!
Task '<user name redacted> - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC90) : 'Your incoming (POP3) email server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: .'
I have exactly the same problem, on both my own and my wife's PCs, starting yesterday afternoon.
We both use the Classic Outlook email client (POP3 protocol):
- all emails sent to my @btopenworld.com address appear with no subject and no sender
- the body of the email is scrambled
- emails sent to my other address are fine
At the moment we have resorted to using BT webmail, but this is playing havoc with my Outlook email filing system!
Presumably this is a BT server issue of some kind...
If it is a BT server problem try turning your BT hub off for 30 minutes and when you turn it back on you will have been issued with a new IP address and hopefully connected to a different email server.
We are experiencing this problem as well. Using outlook express with pop3. No email sender, subject and nonsense text in the main email.
Web mail works fine. Any advice?
Thanks.
Probably of no consolation, but it's not a universal problem.
POP3 is working fine for me on Outlook 2010
Probably linked to this thread https://community.bt.com/t5/General-email-queries/Received-email-with-no-sender-no-subject-and-messa...
Since yesterday my mail has X-VadeSecure-Status in the subject field and plain text as content which is almost unreadable.
I've tried reinstalling Outlook and many other possible fixes. Microsoft suggests it's server spam filtering? How can I get this fixed?
Have you tried the suggestion in post 53?
