Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on BT Broadband

@wideawakewesley afraid not, nothing on private messages admitting their mistake but it's definitely their mistake.

Had a call from @DavidM this afternoon who apologised profusely for the lack of contact (to do with staff Covid absences but he completely said it was their fault) and they are actively chasing updates on this on a per case basis. He also said this has now been fixed for people whose BT subscription time expires but people before that will have to be sorted on a per case basis.

I've insisted on weekly updates which he has agreed, if that doesn't happen I will be shouting on here again. If there is progress I will also post on here.

Thanks for the reply and answers. Not sure if your able to answer this or not.

But a work colleague gave me his 6 months free as a gift (as that was an option when he went to redeem it, he doesn't have an xbox) (I am also a BT customer too)  when this is resolved will it automatically put me back to Microsoft for gamepass payment? As he has turned off recurring payment after the 6 months free that he gifted to myself.

I hope that made sense.

Can anyone here advise how this works? I should be getting 6mths GP Ultimate when my 500Mb FTTP goes live. Does this Game Pass option just sit in MyBT account area for me to redeem at any point in the future?

I already have a lengthy GP Ultimate subscription, so when this ‘issue’ is resolved I’d like to think I can apply this 6mths free from BT to extend my existing subscription.

From my experience, your account will be controlled by BT and they apply an extra month to your account every month until the time expires. This applies as soon as you sign up and there are no keys involved to redeem. During that time you can't do anything with your account. At the end, it SHOULD relinquish control to Microsoft.

My Xbox account details differ from my BT account info, so I am expecting to find an option in the MyBT area to link my Xbox account. I’d really have just preferred BT to supply a one-off code though. My question was more in regard to if that option does appear, will it stay put permanently until I want to redeem/link Xbox details? 

My Full Fibre doesn’t go live for another week so I guess I’ll at least know if this is resolved on the 29th, as the BT mod here seems to suggest.

Hi All,

We have had an update from our team and they've confirmed that a fix has successfully been deployed. All affected users will be able to manage their Xbox Game Pass via their Microsoft account.
