I have a digital voice handset. The answer machine function on 1571 is not picking up any calls. I have been all through the not very helpful BT bot procedures, as it says my line is okay. Phoning from another handset can ring uninterrupted for several minutes even though the setting is to answer after a short duration. I can phone 1571 and it tells me there are no messages. Why wont it pick up unanswered calls?
Hi @DIvison
Welcome to the community.
Are the calls coming through OK if they're answered? Which troubleshooting steps have you tried? Just so that we don't repeat them.
Thanks
Chris
I may have found the problem. In MyBT - Digital Voice - manage section I found that the voice mail had not been activated. This is a surprise, as for such a basic setting I would expect it to be a default setting similar to a mobile phone. I will try it out later. One other thing that is annoying is the caller ID does not show up in the phone's screen when a incoming call starts ringing. Even my saved numbers do not appear on the screen. Is there another setting for that somewhere that I need to activate?
I have a BT HD digital voice plugged into a BT Smart Hub 2.
Digital Voice phones don't plug into anywhere, they are DECT handsets that connect to the DECT base station built into the Smart Hub2
