Does anyone know how to set up an Alexa Smart speaker (Echo Dot) to answer incoming voice calls on the BT Digital Voice service?...I have set up the system for outgoing calls and it works very well. My elderly mother is hard of hearing and can't use a normal handset (even with hearing aid compatible handsets), but she seems to be able to use a hands free Alexa speaker quite well but currently only for outgoing calls. Anyone help please ? Or does anyone have the contact details for the Accessibility Product Manager at BT who may be able to advise ? Many thanks.
Hi @GRM11
Welcome to the Community.
Hands free and voice activation function are great to make life easier for your mother, so being able to receive calls would be great too.
All of Amazon's smart speakers are capable of calls through your mobile number. However you needed an Echo Connect device which allowed you to take landline phone calls through an Echo speaker.
It appears Amazon have discontinued the service back in February, so Echo Connect is no longer available and not possible to take landline calls through Amazon speakers in this way.
You'll need to find an alternative solution for your mother answering calls hands free, for now.
