BT Essential Digital Home Phone

Hi Everyone,

i did not see any previous post about this so apologies if i missed one.

But i am trying to buy the BT Digital Voice compatible phones and they seem impossible to get.

First of all the advanced one is not availalbe on the EE store and the Essentiial one is but there is no add to basket.

I was wondering if anyone else was having trouble and what if any other phones they were using for digital voice.

Re: BT Essential Digital Home Phone

Only BT/EE DV phones are compatible with BT DV , there are no third party products available.

You don't actually need a DV phone though. Your existing phone(s) will work if plugged into the green socket at the rear of the hub.

Hi @CptJackal

You need to be a BT Shop/EE Store customer to enable you order a product from the website.  Just either register or log in.

Re: BT Essential Digital Home Phone

understood. Ideally i am looking to swap out the 3 plugged in phones, with 3 of these phones so they just talk to the HUB. using/keeping the current phones would mean 3 adapters and a power socket in each location. (as well as the existing power socket for the phone)

Hi @RIC9380 its still not showing add to basket for me on even when logged in.

I guess i should presume its out of stock even though they claim 19 left in stock.

No, you can utilise your existing extension wiring by connecting it to the green socket. If you have full fibre (FTTP) its simply a case of disconnecting the old incoming copper pair and connecting the master socket to the hub with a double ended BT431 cord. A little bit more work required if still on a copper connection.

Re: BT Essential Digital Home Phone

@licquorice  Understood. I  have no master socket anymore. BT removed it and i only have the FTTP coming into the property now.

I just wanted to buy the phones BT advertise with the service but they just seem not available anywhere. some second hand ones etc but nothing on their own EE store.

Ah @CptJackal I saw it says they were in stock but didn't progress through to try to order one (I've got enough for now).
