Being Moved over to Digital Voice

Hi,

I got an email from BT saying they are moving me over to digital voice in December.

I am currently with BT for my broadband with Smart Hub 2 but with conventional broadband not full fibre/FTTP.

Does this mean that as part of the switch over to digital voice I will get FTTP,  ie a new cable from the street to my house and new wall mounted box in my living room?

The email just mentioned an engineer visit but no details of what will be done.

Thanks in advance for any advice/info.

No, digital voice works over FTTC just as well.

Copper is staying for areas that do not have FTTP.

Re: Being Moved over to Digital Voice

Hi Thanks for the reply, my area does have FTTP (its in my street) its just that I haven't upgraded yet.

Just checked my email, now I have one telling me I am getting upgraded to FTTP for free and that engineer will install new equipment/drill hole in wall etc - so now I am clear.
Thanks anyway.

Re: Being Moved over to Digital Voice

Also do consider if you do want that upgrade  to fibre to the premises - some people prefer not for various reasons and I presume you have a right to refuse. You have to take the digital voice but not FTTP.
