I have recently had my landline switched to Digital Voice and bought BT Essential Digital Home phones (poor sound quilaity btw. Fuzzy and fades in and out). I regularly need to disconnect/silence my phone. I used to just pull the landline phone out of the socket. Is there any way of doing this that doesn't involve fiddling with the volume on all my handsets. Clearly I don't want to disconnect the broadband. (There are other people in the house and even if not it takes time to reboot.)
