Can you have more than one extension on digital voice, e.g. 3 Decor 2200's

Can you make or receive a call on one phone, then pick up a different phone and listen in or join in the conversation?  Can you do that on a third phone? I seem to have a problem with the third phone in that I get a dial tone when I pick up the phone and cannot listen in. Whats more if I dial anything it don't work anyway.

I have two phones connected to Digital adapters and the third plugged into the SH2 direct.

I'm looking into wiring it up for truecall, with extension sockets in place of the digital adapters, but as I have these DV Adapters thought I'd try a few things then noticed this anomoly too.

you DV effectively has 2 lines so you can make and receive a call at same time but that stops you picking up an extension to join a call  if you go to digital phone then settins then call and change multi to single

Seems I am limited to picking up only 2 of the 3 phones to join a call. If I pick up a third phone I don't hear anything for a few seconds. Then I get an Unobtainable sound. I have called 151 and they could not help me.

@Justin_UK

Picking up more that two phones will cause the feed voltage to drop below the holding voltage of the Smart Hub 2 phone interface. There is no way to avoid this, as some voltage drop will also occur through the TrueCall unit. Normally you would only have one phone connected, or a DECT base station with multiple handsets.

On positive note I called up truecall and they tell me these phones will work with Digital Voice adapter and Truecall Secure device plugged in. All will ring if the number is known. If number is not known then the phone with truecall attached will ring. I can probably live with that if I move the truecall unit downstairs where we are most of the day. Not that we get many calls of late anyway but at least it will be there in case they start up again.

Hi @Keith_Beddoe

Not sure how having 3 phones plugged directly into DIgital Voice Adaters (Avoiding plugging anything into the Smart Hub 2) will affect the voltage in the Smart Hub 2?

It will not affect the Smart Hub provided it can cope with multiple DV adapters, as there is a limit to the number of DECT devices that can be registered against the hub.

You may also have issues if a DV adapter is out of range of the DECT base unit in the hub.

Re: Can you have more than one extension on digital voice, e.g. 3 Decor 2200's

Just to add, there may only be two simultaneous voice channels available to be delivered by the Smart Hub 2, hence why it supports multi call. So if you try to establish a third connection back to the home hub, it does not work.
