Different ringtone for incoming calls

We have just switched across to digital voice and are using BT Premium phones, before switching we used a DECT phone which allowed you to set ring tones linked to different incoming calls. I can’t find anything in the user guide to show how to set this up. If it’s not possible can anyone explain the technical reason why not. TIA

Re: Different ringtone for incoming calls

If you are using the same phones are you had before you migrated to DV , then presumably somewhere you allocate a ringtone to each number in your directory, that will basically be a look up table , the CLI ( calling line info ) comes in , the phone checks what ringtone is allocated to that CLI ( the calling number ) and plays the appropriate ringtone, if you have different phones now you are on BTDV , that facility to assign different ringtone’s may not be a feature of those new phones

Re: Different ringtone for incoming calls

Just connect your existing  phone base to the socket on back of SH2 and continue as you are just now.  Your new DV phone does not have the same facility for individual ring tones
