Same issue here.  Voice mail is full of messages as mum didn't manage to get to the phone, and she hasn't grasped how to listen to them.. tried all the suggestions 15710 just asked you to voicemail. No options to disable on mybt, and no option to disable in 1571.  Looks like the only way to disable digital voilmail on digital voice is to move to a different provider?

1. When I dialled a number the intermittent tone was still there so, yes, it did stop me making a call.
2. It was all connected correctly.
3. I'm 85 so please don't expect me to understand all your jargon.
4. I have cancelled the voicemail through customer services
5. BT have replaced the phone connector as they have admitted that sometimes if they are faulty that will cause the problem I had.
6. The new connector is in place and everything working fine
7. So it wasn't nonsense after all was it?

Phone BT customer Services and ask them to remove voicemail. They are very helpful!

Tried the suggestion in message 4. It says my order timed out, no options to remove voicemail.
Message 40 I'll have to give that a try next time I visit my mother.
Another issue.... I had to go and visit to install a new router and connect my mothers phones. The digital voice activated on Monday, but nobody said that the analogue service was disabled at he same time! The 'expert' visit was for rhe following Monday. Seems BT think it's perfectly acceptable for the elderly/housebound to be without a phone for a week! It was 2 days until I found out that the phone was nolonger working!

Hi @Nigel8283

I'm really sorry to hear that you weren't advised that the analogue side would be deactivated.

If you mention this when you call about the voicemail removal, they'll be able to look into what has happened and log it against the account as a complaint.

Once that's all sorted, hopefully everything runs a bit smoother.

Tried to phone 150 from my mothers but it just cuts off. I rang them from my own phone and they refused to speak to me regarding someone else's phone. So much for them being very helpful.  How can those who have no internet contact BT? if they're very deaf, differently able and 97 years old and at a loss with modern tech? BT couldn't care less

BT want it so they can make more money from people having to phone the person who rang them and wouldn't leave a message or because the subscriber couldn't fathom out the messaging system and wasn't in time to anwser the phone. Another way to rake in cash.

Not a long time for the elderly with mobility problems, the hard of hearing. More importantly. The service shouldn't be installed without permission of the customer. Not set up as default. BT must STOP thinking everyone is young, fit and able.

try being nearly 100 years old, riddled with arthritis, almost fully deaf and blind, then making the same comment
