Re: Digital Voice and Reduced Broadband Speeed

I have subsequently managed to sign up for a 2 year contract under exactly the same terms I.e with gfast.

I was told I would not lose this in that 2 year period and hopefully by then I will be able to get Full fibre. In the meantime I continue with 136mbs broadband that won't change.

We will see!

Re: Digital Voice and Reduced Broadband Speeed

No idea. Just told them i would change provider as they were offering me half the speed I already get with no change to cost and no additional features.

It took about an hour on phone once I got an 'Agent' with lots of discussion behind scenes.

This is what I have been assured, but let's see what happens in January. Obviously if they change it  they are breaking our contract as well as have been lying to me! I hope for all sakes that does not happen.

Re: Digital Voice and Reduced Broadband Speeed

@cdownes , So what have you renewed is it Sogfast rather than Gfast   which seemingly has no telephony  or as Gfast with PSTN telephony ? , the most likely answer I’d imagine is that you have renewed as SoGfast with no telephony supplied at all , neither DV and definitely not PSTN , if you have been offered SoGfast with DV , that was what most people assumed BT would do for Gfast as it’s exactly the same migration journey as SoGEA with DV to get FTTC /PSTN customers off the soon to be retired PSTN but maintaining a telephone service .

When Gfast with a telephone service customers started not being migrated using the same process as FTTC it was intimated that SoGfast wasn’t worth the effort of making it DV compatible so Gfast with telephone had to change to FTTP or SoGEA with DV  .

If you were or are Gfast with no BT telephone service are moving to SoGfast with no telephone isn’t the same scenario as someone with BT telephone and Gfast .
