We have three handsets in the house, one a dect, the second a BT Big Button and the third a BT digital voice handset. We have been so disappointed and frustrated by their problems since switch over to DV. My wife is blind and can’t use the BT DV handset as the buttons are not separated and she can’t distinguish the buttons, the DV handset and the dect phone cut out when we use them in the garden whereas under the ‘old’ system we had no range problems, we can’t share a phone call and the contact list facility on the BT DV handset is clunky and onerous to search
We feel DV has put us back to the times before DECT phones.
Can anyone recommend a quality handset system that would overcome the above problems and would be DV compatible?
Or even better, tell us how to switch back to copper and a working DECT phone!
If you plug your current DECT base station into the green phone socket at the rear of the hub, everything will be as before.
You cannot now move back to old copper phone connection
Have you read the DV FAQ as they will help with suggestions how you can connect and use your existing phone system. Have you connected and of your phones to the socket on back of hub?
The Big Button phone should plug directly into the phone socket of the Smart Hub 2, and will work exactly as it did before.
@PeterJ46 If it is not convenient to plug your existing DECT main phone into your hub then you can get an adapter(s) from BT so you can use both your existing DECT phone and big button phone as before with no change in range.
I would then dump your DV phones as they have no advantage to you and you can use the directories in your existing phones.
many thanks everyone. Peter
