Digital phones memory

Go to solution

I've had to reset my hub (on instruction from the BT engineer) and now I find that my digital phones have to be reconnected to the hub.

I've reconnected the first one and note that all the numbers in the memory have disappeared.

I don't want to re-enter them (I probably don't even know some of them).

Are they still on my remaining disconnected phones? Can I re-connect without losing the information?

contact will have gone from any DV phones but should remain on any older analogue you had connected to the hub socket on back or DV adapter

@WilfH1

Resetting the hub wiped all your contacts & settings so unless you took a backup you've got to re-enter them.

Once you do this take a backup of the contacts and your Hub settings for next time.

@WilfH1

Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.

The numbers are stored in the Smart Hub 2, and will be lost if a factory reset is done.

Its possible to export and import the numbers within the home hub web interface.

Disappointing that no one told me this before I did the factory reset whilst on the phone to your engineer.
For future use, how do I export the numbers?

@WilfH1

Just be aware, this is just a customer to customer help forum, everyone here, including myself, are just customers.

Not sure why BT do not make customers aware of the issue.

I am sure another forum member who has Digital Voice, will be able to help.

The problem is, it does not mention that a factory reset deletes the numbers.

@Keith_Beddoe

It's a BT article on BT's web site, expecting completeness or accuracy is sheer folly.
